Cascade Pond

Dist: 1.3km    Elev: 10m    Time: <1h    Difficulty: 1/5

Melinda and I decided to ditch town and make the most of the great weekend weather, her craving a latte from Canmore and me itching to explore some new trails. I had seen a photo of Cascade Pond on a calendar in one of my clinics earlier in the week, and Mindy agreed to accompany me on a leisurely stroll around the pleasant little picnic area to "earn" her hot beverage. The scenery was great given the short distance and negligible elevation change, the highlights being the numerous picturesque wooden bridges and the enormous Cascade Mountain looming above. Short, sweet, and just enough visual interest to justify a blog post!

Crossing the frozen pond.

Cascade Mountain looks massive above us.

Mount Rundle across the highway.

Mount Astey to the north.

Bridge crossing.

Mindy looking even smaller than usual.

  1. Lovely; it looks so 'fresh' with all the snow and no people!
